In the following example, on the left, are all the entries beginning with the word "file" in the online index for typical programs used to transfer files between computers and websites. Note the ambiguity of "file information":
does this mean, "information about using files" or "information about files themselves, i.e., file attributes"? The term "file installation" is genuinely misleading if it means (as it does in some indexes) "installation of the program".
On the right is a portion of the entries that would appear under the heading "file" in a ZST index. If you had little or no experience using the filetransfer program, or had forgotten what you once knew, which index would you prefer?
